How can I support my child?

Dyslexic children will not all have the same strengths and weaknesses.

As a parent, you will have a good understanding of your child and the challenges that they face. There are steps you can take to support your child's education such as: approaching your child's school for appropriate SEN Support, or if your child needs more support than the school can provide applying for an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan, or arranging additional tutoring.

However, there are also more 'hands on' ways that you can support your child's education.

The British Dyslexia Association's Youth Ambassador Jo Crawford has made a video with her mum, drawing on their own personal experiences, to give advice to parents.
