Our webinar training package Boosting achievement in looked after children: Understanding and supporting diversity aims to support professionals working with looked after children. These webinars provide training for social work and virtual school professionals who wish to increase their knowledge and understanding of specific learning differences and how to provide support for the children and young people in their care.
They have also been designed as 'lift and shift' training which you can take away and roll out with your own teams.
In the webinars, we'll be giving plenty of tips on how to use and get maximum benefit from the training materials.
Webinar 1: Introduction
Webinar 2: Focus on profilers
The second part of the training focusses on using the Neurodiversity Profiler to identify the needs of children and young people. You will learn how to use the two parts of the profiler to build a picture of strengths as well as challenges, and to identify appropriate support strategies to put in place.
We look at three case cameos:
- Connor, a 9 year old boy in primary education;
- Aimee, a 15 year old girl in secondary education;
- Chelsea, a 17 year old girl at FE college;
We’ll be using a range of materials relating to each subject to show how the Profiler is used to build up a holistic picture and to identify appropriate support strategies.
